KELANTAN'S ULAMA AND UMARAK SUPPORT @NajibRazak FOR COMING GE-13 !!!



Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak believes that religious figures such as ulama (clerics) and umarak (Muslim leaders) will help the Barisan Nasional (BN) wrest Kelantan from the opposition.

The prime minister described religious figures as fighters representing the voice of the people of Kelantan who were hungry for change without compromising their faith.

"If you want to see a change, this is the group that will create history. Our struggle involves a new partnership with leaders who are ulama and umarak.

"Ulama are not playing politics. They are 'juruh' (good people). God willing, they will be together with us. This is my belief," he said at a tea reception with local leaders representing non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community and pondok (rural Islamic schools) here Sunday.

Earlier, Najib chaired a two-hour meeting with local NGOs.

Najib hoped that ulama and umarak struggle would thrive and get the support of various quarters in the strive to achieve their goal.

"Continue with your efforts to hold ceramah (talks) involving young and old ulama, and pondok teachers. This will help us clarify that BN is on the right track," he said.

He said Kelantan would be the first state to be included in the BN manifesto and the projects earmarked would be implemented for the federal government would honour its promises.

Earlier, speaking at the Rural Transformation Centre in Tunjung here, Najib announced seven major projects for Kelantan which would be implemented soon. - BERNAMA
